“Well, you know, black folks don’t like to travel, right?”
Don’t you believe it!
The truth is that at any given moment, you can find African-Americans “out there” all over the planet — vacationing, working and living as expats, teaching, running businesses, the full spectrum of life and success. Travel is our new virtual Strivers Row — and you can share their journeys right here on this page!
So check out WHO’S GOING WHERE. Some of them are blogging their journey or their expat life; be sure to check out their sites! And if you ever find yourself contemplating a trip yourself, come back and connect with a brother or sisters who’ve already been there and done that!
GLOBAL
Heather Greenwood Davis is in the midst of a year-long trip around the world — with her entire family, including husband and two school-age sons. Follow their journey at Globetrotting Mama.
AFRICA
Roxanne L. Scott, the driving force behind the Who’s World Media Project, is taking time off from her teaching gig in Beijing, China, to spend three weeks in Ethiopia starting Jan. 16.
AMERICAS
ASIA/PACIFIC
Danielle Pointdujour has her own mini-tribe of traveling sisters (watch the slideshow above and you’ll see them, with the Tuscan city of Florence in the background). Come April, they’re off to Thailand.
EUROPE
Monique White Rubin, Expat of Color based in Amsterdam, loves running around Europe. Literally. She and a couple of fellow expats are currently training for the 2012 Milano City Marathon in Milan, Italy. You GO, Mo!
Kiratiana Freelon, ever-resourceful and non-stop, is heading for London. Her site may be dedicated to introducing you to Paris, but you may find this world-minded sister anywhere. Try and keep up!

Twenty-three countries and counting in less than three years of travel. I’m black and I love to travel and teach others how to live a traveling life. Great post Greg!
Thanks, Fidel! Keep on rollin’! This page is going to be a regular, permanent feature of this blog, so get ready to see a lot more here in the coming months!
